My name is Paul Swifka.....and I ride a scooter....
With the gas rate skyrocketing.....My wife and I decided to buy a scooter for myself to ride around town on...considering one day we filled up both of our vehicles and it cost somewhere around $150 for both vehicles.....that will last around 2 weeks.....the scooter I bought gets around 75 miles to the gallon...can't beat that......I did a lot of research on scooter and was considering at first a 50's Vespa or so.....I found some nice ones but realized that there is no dealer here in chico..no one to work on the old ones and parts would be a problem....I thought about a new one.....but...the cost around $5,000 and again no dealer in town.... I looked at the Honda's like my friend Tims ....nice...small and they only come in 50cc engines.....which for me would only go about 30-35mph....I needed one that went aournd 45mpg so I could go on the main roads of chico like Mangrove..Park Ave, and the Esplanade.......Walla!!!!! what I found was a Yamaha dealer 3 blocks from my house who carrying the Yamaha Vino 125....perfect for what I needed....a 125cc engine.....able to carry two.......new.....dealer in town...and able to go a top speed of 60..but with me on it....around 45 -50mpg.....perfect....plus the payment ......$39....lower than a tank of gas.....can't beat that...behold my first scooter...The 2007 Yamaha Vino 125...... I am now part of an elite group of Scooter Riders that hit the open road..... please feel free to comment and give me tips about accessories.....cool places to ride ect.

is your scoot a gas/oil mix or ? What oil do you use in the engine? Im thinking about using synthetics for my 250cc. Any suggestions?
I ride a 2009 Zuma 125. I also live within 3 blocks of the Chico Yamaha dealership so we must be neighbors. I'm def interested in group rides if we can get a few more people together.
I too ride a scooter here in Chico. Just moved down from Paradise and I used to ride my scooter to work in Chico as much as the weather would allow. You should see the looks I would get. Mine is a Kemco 250 so it will go in the 80 mph range. So what this about a club? Tell me more. Us scooter people have represent.
